Dreaming Creek has added reclaimed Ipe’ and Redwood to its wood species offerings. Over the years we have struggled to find a long term answer to using heavy timber in exterior applications that did not stain / discolor or turn black, and was not heavily laden with toxic chemicals i.e. "salt treated" which has also been known as CCA = copper, chromium, and arsenic all three known to contain carcinogens. Also it has a green color due to the copper and lots of maintenance.  Most untreated woods just plain rot over time.

This search has lead us to reclaimed ipe and redwood with the added benefit of being some of the most beautiful woods we have available so we now have beauty, safety, and longevity to offer our customers with these materials.

Reclaimed Redwood (“Buckskin”)
We selected reclaimed all heart redwood “buckskins” for all exterior siding and trim. This material was harvested from mature trees that had been cut down decades ago. Leaving the top of the tree as waste. The tops when found might be 24” -72” in diameter with some of the finest tight grain ever produced. The stability of old timber of this quality is unmatched allowing planks 4” x 12” x 28’ to be perfectly flat & straight. Siding & trim made from redwood is a lifetime product requiring little to no maintenance.
